Coming back from vacation is exhausting, isn’t it? More so if it was spent with family, relaxing and in one of the most beautiful places around! We got blessed to be hosted this past weekend by Hotel Azure in South Lake Tahoe, a cute boutique hotel situated in the heart of town, right across from the lake!
We checked in early in the morning with the concierge who told us to drive on over, and in about two hours from Sacramento, we were up the hill getting situated in our amazing one bedroom suite! It was the cutest, with a living room, kitchen and sleeper sofa. I mean, when you have three kids, having a kitchen is literally a God sent! We brought some goodies from home so we could save some moolah (these kids are hungry 23 hours in the day, so the more snacks brought from home, the better) and our room had a view of the pool to the right and a view of the glorious lake everywhere else! The hotel had a pool and two hot tubs to enjoy as well as a game room and fitness center which we got to use while our room was being cleaned. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with little presents for mama and kiddos to celebrate Mother’s Day and Colton’s 5th birthday!
Right as we got there we drove into town and ended up having a great lunch at California Burger Company. Their burgers are out of this world! The best thing about the location of the hotel was how central and close to everything it was. They’re located in the California side, away from the casinos and overly packed tourist areas, however if we wanted to go there, it was less than a 5 minute drive. The restaurant we went to was right at the Stateline and literally a quick drive back to the hotel. Next to the restaurant was also Raleys, a grocery store where we got some food for the weekend and in that same village, the best donuts ever! All while being walking distance from the lake.
The next day was spent by the beach, which was across the street from the hotel and Hello! Free parking! ( to be honest though, we took longer the park than what it would have taken to walk there, LOL ) The weather did us well. Perfect temps all around and the kiddos had so much fun! Not to mention, right behind the hotel is a bowling alley, and a diner, so you can literally spend the whole weekend without having to use your car! The Bear Beach Cafe had the best breakfast (hello, mama bear skillet!) as well! The kiddos were over the moon at the pool, lake and board games, while us parents were over the moon to have our own room to just sleep it off! (The little things that just make us happy, right?!)
This hotel will definitely be in our recommendation list and in our summer plans for years to come! Thank you Hotel Azure for treating us to a great birthday and Mother’s Day! Check my instagram for more details and photos of this gorgeous place!
