I wanted to start by saying how blogging has changed my life in the short span of 4 months. You see, I never really felt like sharing with the world how my day went, my hacks, failures and winnings were. I thought that was so cliche and there are just so many bloggers around. It wasn’t until after many talks with my pillow and bff that I decided to take a shot at it, but a far one at that. Who would be interested in knowing about my life and what I do? Why? I am just another cookie cutter mother in Northern California! Well, I realized how much work it actually takes. I feel I have taken on a second job, networking, searching for the perfect photo and witty captions, I stay up at night responding to emails and comments, and I even research brands that I may want to pursue! So when my Instagram started taking off, I realized that I am a soul to be heard and If I want to pursue blogging, then to go ahead and give it all I’ve got! Social media is certainly a fun fun place, but it can be discouraging. Once you take off, the haters come out of the woods and 90% of the time those haters are other women just like you! Going through the same journey, and maybe taking off slower or faster than you, but yet feeling very uncomfortable with the idea of having to compete with you. One difference of opinion and God forbid you said anything because they will come out to attack! and my question is… why? Why cant we honor each other, cheer to each others’ victories and cry away the tears of each others’ failures? Specially in this time in age when we are standing up to ourselves, we should have the obligation to stand up for one another! I know I am not the only one that has experienced another IG mama ostracizing what we say on our posts, or even bringing down our own brand because they’re frustrated at theirs! Or even the ones you supported from the getgo but who won’t support you back now that you are reaching new heights… That has happened to me and it’s a serious mood killer. So I decided to be different than the rest. To respect newer (than me) bloggers, to honor the big ones, and to celebrate all.
I have had the pleasure to meet a blogger mama that is just the sweetest. Kimberly has been there since I started and she is about to welcome a little bundle of joy. Her family is the sweetest and just like anyone out there, has a story to tell. I want to feature her today as my Friday Feature Friend. Motherhood ties us all together, so what better than sharing her birth story? She has an amazing instagram feed and also a blog over here. Follow her on both and you’ll see how much you love following her sweet little family. She is mommy goals alright!
This wraps up my Friday Feature Friend article. I am in love with this little family and I know you will too. Kim, my friend… I am so ecstatic to see you expand your beautiful family and show your little kiddos what a strong super hero you are and how you can be a million months pregnant and still slay better than Beyonce… or Katy Perry… Or whoever! Friend, you’re doing it right. The mama in me honors the mama in you. The blogger in me honors the blogger in you.
Til next time
